Position
Summary:
This is an individual contributor role that is responsible for creating Articad layouts for existing customers, bids, and maintaining layouts with revisions to blueprints. Also provides value engineering recommendations to the builder for most cost-effective design. Relocation assistance is not budgeted for this position. We are currently looking to fill 2 positions of this type.
Organizational Relationship:
Reports directly to the National Contracts Supervisor - Design
Accountabilities:
Produce quality, detailed, accurate layouts from blueprints utilizing ArtiCAD design tool
Provide design recommendations to customers (internal & external) based upon product knowledge
Respond to customer inquiries regarding design layout
Maintain detailed records in internal design logs on a daily basis (incoming and completed work)
Troubleshoot blueprints for inconsistencies compared to specifications and/or field conditions
Maintain plan list (and option codes where required) for customers
Follow up with customers to obtain proper approval of layouts
Organize and communicate design projects to Independent Contractor designers
Audit work of Independent Contractor designers
Maintain electronic documentation of standard work procedures for customer account management
Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw appropriate conclusions, and provide solutions. Seek clarification to determine root cause of issues
Maintain a working knowledge of company-required software, computer, and office equipment
Build relationships and positively interact and communicate with customers, both internal and external
Effectively present information and respond to inquiries from customers, other departments, and team members
Understand customer requirements and analyze requests for potential obstacles before implementing systematic changes
Handle stressful situations while remaining calm
Understand logic of Builder price matrices as it pertains to the design option naming and setup
Understand the impact of design option naming/codes as it pertains to the ordering function
Research and answer installation questions from installers, customers, MasterBrand field personnel and service agents
Retrieve blueprints and specifications from customers'' preferred websites to obtain information and documentation
Provide back-up support to other members of the team (may include cross-functional roles)
Travels as business needs may require - currently estimated at 2-5% for the purpose of customer visits

Software knowledge: Familiarity with design software (such as 20/20) is a plus; Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Office Equipment knowledge, including copiers, fax machines, scanners, phone systems, etc.
Mathematical knowledge: math skills related to angles, dimension conversion, fractions and decimals
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information, documents, and regulations
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where standardized methods and procedures may exist. Must possess decision-making skills to determine when exceptions are needed to provide appropriate resolution to the situation.
Education &
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent is minimally required
A 2-year or 4-year degree in Design or related field is highly preferred
